The Unemployable Life
300,00 U.S Teachers Quit in America!!
The national teacher shortage is currently an intriguing problem that is affecting the importance of learning. 40% of schools have vacancies, with an alarming 55,000 teaching positions still vacant. THIS SHORTAGE IS MORE THAN A STAFFING CONCERN. IT IS A CRISIS!
Between the fall of 2020 and the spring of 2022, a total of 300,000 teachers quit the profession totally, causing a chain reaction that will influence not only the learning kids but also the future of our workforce and society. SO, WHY ARE SO MANY TEACHERS WALKING AWAY?
The challenges are huge and diversified. Educators are being pushed to their limits by comparatively low earnings (an average salary of $66,000, which is only $3,000 over the national average) and excessive responsibilities that extend far beyond teaching.
What can you learn from this video?
- Teachers are asked to wear multiple hats, such as counselors, administrators, and safety officers.
- Depression and stress levels among teachers
- Burnout has resulted from the growing demands and lack of support.
- Our educators operate in an environment that is not just mentally hard, but also more unsafe.
- What will happen if the crisis continues?
- The awful truth about gun violence in schools since 1999.
The long-term effects may result in a decrease in educational quality, a spike in homeschooling by less educated individuals, and restricted innovative thinking. We also talk about how some districts are working to relieve the situation with greater benefits, four-day school weeks, and debt repayment schemes, but the thing is, are these enough?
But here is a bigger question. HOW DO WE MAKE TEACHING AN INTERESTING CAREER AGAIN?
